ALL ABOUT ME
My name is Benjamin Gerwitz.
I am a passionate and curious creative with a strong interest in storytelling, design, and interactive experiences. I am currently studying architecture at the University at Buffalo, where I explore the connections between spatial design and digital media.
My creative journey began with filmmaking, where I developed an early appreciation for visual storytelling and cinematography. Working on short films taught me how to craft mood, pacing, and meaning through camera work, editing, and sound. This experience continues to influence how I think about composition, lighting, and narrative structure across all mediums.
Over time, my interests expanded to include 3D modeling, game design, and writing. I enjoy taking on ambitious personal projects that challenge my thinking and push my skills. I approach each project as an opportunity to experiment, learn, and bring unique ideas to life through visual or interactive formats.
I have experience with a wide range of creative software including Blender, Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. These tools support my work across 2D and 3D design, video production, and digital storytelling.
My background in film and my evergrowing architectural mindset allow me to approach design with both narrative and spatial awareness. I am especially interested in how cinematic techniques and digital environments can shape the way we experience stories and spaces. Whether I am designing a building, crafting a game world, or shooting a scene, I aim to create thoughtful, immersive, and emotionally resonant work.
My long-term goal is to work in a field that blends architecture, visual storytelling, and interactive media. I am inspired by the potential of emerging technologies to redefine how we communicate, play, and experience the world around us.
